Tom Adkins: White guilt is dead

By Tom Adkins:
Look at my fellow conservatives! There they go, glumly shuffling along, depressed by the election aftermath. Not me. I’m virtually euphoric. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not thrilled with America ’s flirtation with neo socialism. But there’s a massive silver lining in those magical clouds that lofted Barak Obama to the Presidency. For today, without a shred of intellectually legitimate opposition, I can loudly proclaim to America : The Era of White Guilt is over.
This seemingly impossible event occurred because the vast majority of white Americans didn’t give a fluff about skin color, and enthusiastically pulled the voting lever for a black man. Not just any black man. A very liberal black man who spent his early career race-hustling banks, praying in a racist church for 20 years, and actively worked with America-hating domestic terrorists. Wow! Some resume! Yet they made Barak Obama their leader. Therefore, as of Nov 4th, 2008, white guilt is dead.
For over a century, the millstone of white guilt hung around our necks, retribution for slave-owning predecessors. In the 60s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution. But if a black man can become President, exactly what significant barrier is left? The election of Barak Obama absolutely destroys the entire validation of liberal white guilt. The dragon is hereby slain.
So today, I’m feeling a little “uppity,” if you will. From this day forward, my tolerance level for having my skin color hustled is now exactly ZERO. And it’s time to clean house. No more Reverend Wright’s “God Damn America ,” Al Sharpton’s Church of Perpetual Victimization , or Jesse Jackson’s rainbow racism. Cornell West? You’re a fraud. Go home. All those “black studies” programs that taught kids to hate whitey? You must now thank Whitey. And I want that on the final.
Congressional Black Caucus? Irrelevant. Maxine Waters? Shut up. ACORN? Outlawed. Black Panthers? Go home and pet your kitty. Black separatists? Find another nation that offers better dreams. Go ahead. I’m waiting.
Gangsta rappers? Start praising America . Begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. And please…no more ebonics. Speak English, and who knows where you might end up? Oh, yeah…pull up your pants. Your underwear is showing. You look stupid.
To those Eurosnots who forged entire careers hating America ? I’m still waiting for the first black French President.
And let me offer an equal opportunity whupping. I’ve always despised lazy white people. Now, I can talk smack about lazy black people. You’re poor because you quit school, did drugs, had three kids with three different fathers, and refuse to work. So when you plop your Colt 45-swilling, Oprah watchin’ butt on the couch and complain “Da Man is keepin’ me down,” allow me to inform you: Da Man is now black. You have no excuses.
No more quotas No more handouts. No more stealing my money because someone’s great-great-great-great grandparents suffered actual pain and misery at the hands of people I have no relation to, and personally revile.
It’s time to toss that massive, obsolete race-hustle machine upon the heap of the other stupid 60s ideas. Drag it over there, by wife swapping, next to dope-smoking Plenty of room right between free love and cop-killing. Careful…don’t trip on streaking. There ya go, don’t be gentle. Just dump it. Wash your hands. It’s filthy.
In fact, Obama’s ascension created a gargantuan irony. How can you sell class envy and American unfairness when you and your black wife went to Ivy League schools, got high-paying jobs, became millionaires, bought a mansion, and got elected President? How unfair is that??? Now, Like a delicious O’Henry tale, Obama’s spread-the-wealth campaign rendered itself moot by it’s own victory!  America is officially a meritocracy. Obama’s election has validated American conservatism!
So, listen carefully…Wham!!!
That’s the sound of my foot kicking the door shut on the era of white guilt. The rites have been muttered, the carcass lowered, dirt shoveled, and tombstone erected. White guilt is dead and buried.
However, despite my glee, there’s apparently one small, rabid bastion of American racism remaining. Black Americans voted 96% for Barak Obama. Hmmm. In a color-blind world, shouldn’t that be 50-50? Tonight, every black person should ask forgiveness for their apparent racism and prejudice towards white people. Maybe it’s time to start spreading the guilt around.

Mississippi’s big-3 universities – football powerhouses not

Ole Miss won three national football championships (1959, 1960, and 1962) under the leadership of coach John Vaught. Neither Mississippi State nor Southern Mississippi has ever come close. In recent years the three programs have failed to produce teams of national note. This past weekend saw all three go down to defeat. What’s the problem? Do you think Mississippi will ever again produce a national football championship? What would you recommend the universities do to get back on the winning track?

Letter to Bill O’Reilly re evacuees

Comments on the following letter are welcome.

Subject: Louisiana Evacuations & Shelters

Date: Sat, 06 Sep 2008 05:3 1:31 +0000

           Hello Mr. O’Reilly,

I am a nurse who has just completed working approximately 120

hours as the clinic director in a Hurricane Gustav evacuation shelter in

Shreveport, Louisiana over the last 7 days.  I would love to see someone

look at the evacuee situation from a new perspective.  Local and national

news channels have covered the evacuation and “horrible” conditions the

evacuees had to endure during Hurricane Gustav. True – some things were

not optimal for the evacuation and the shelters need some modification.

At any point, does anyone address the responsibility (or

 irresponsibility) of the evacuees?

Does it seem wrong that one would remember their cell phone,

charger, cigarettes and lighter but forget their child’s insulin?

Is something amiss when an evacuee gets off the bus, walks

immediately to the medical area, and requests immediate free refills on all

medicines for which they cannot provide a prescription or current bottle

 (most of which are narcotics)?

Isn’t the system flawed when an evacuee says they cannot afford

a $3 copay for a refill that will be delivered to them in the shelter yet they

can take a city-provided bus to Wal-mart, buy 5 bottles of Vodka, and

return to consume them secretly in the shelter?

Is it fair to stop performing luggage checks on incoming

evacuees so as not to delay the registration process but endanger the volunteer staff

and other persons with the very realistic truth of drugs, alcohol and weapons

 being brought into the shelter?

Am I less than compassionate when it frustrates me to scrub

emesis from the floor near a nauseated child while his mother lies nearby,

watching me work 26 hours straight, not even raising her head from the pillow to

 comfort her own son?

Why does it incense me to hear a man say “I ain’t goin’ home

’til I get my FEMA check”  when I would love to just go home and see my daughters

who I have only seen 3 times this week?

Is the system flawed when the privately insured patient must

find a way to get to the pharmacy, fill his prescription and pay his copay while

the FEMA declaration allows the uninsured person to acquire free

 medications under the disaster rules?

Does it seem odd that the nurse volunteering at the shelter is

paying for childcare while the evacuee sits on a cot during the day as the

 shelter provides a “day care”?

Have government entitlements created this mentality and am I

 facilitating it with my work?

Will I be a bad person, merciless nurse or poor Christian if I

hesitate to work at the next shelter because I have worked for 7 days being

called every curse word imaginable, felt threatened and feared for my personal

 safety in the shelter?

Exhausted and battered but hopefully pithy,

           Sherri Hagerhjelm, RN

The end of our “empire?”

Though it has been obvious through the loss of its manufacturing base and the immense increase in its debts that the United States was mortgaging its future, there remained two ultra-significant entities in which we remained world leaders, to wit, our financial institutions and our military. With the tremendous losses that our financial institutions are now experiencing, and the loss of confidence in them, our country is on the verge of losing its claim to being the “financial capital of the world.” Should we also allow our military to deteriorate, the one remaining bulwark of strength will be lost.

There is no easy path to reclaiming our leadership of the world, and the comfortable lifestyle such position provided to each of us. The years ahead will be very difficult. Of extreme importance is the ability of our military to face any challenges hurled at a country perceived to be badly weakened. When you vote in November, you would be wise to take a careful look at the positions of each of the candidates on this vital issue.

Dow down 504 points – will it affect you?

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 504 points Monday (9/15/08), one of the worst performances on record. Obviously, anyone holding stocks was affected. But will the decline in the stock market affect us all in other ways? Which way will the Dow head from here? What alternative investments do you have or recommend? Gold? Real estate? Bonds? Your comments are welcome.

Goodby, earth: Large Hadron Collider online

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world’s largest and highest-energy particle accelerator complex, intended to collide opposing beams of protons charged with approximately 7 TeVs of energy. Its main purpose is to explore the validity and limitations of the Standard Model, the current theoretical picture for particle physics. It crosses the border between Switzerland and France at four points, but most of it is in France. The collider will undergo its initial tests today, and will gradually be brought up to “top speed” over a period of several months.

Some scientists fear that the machine will inadvertently create a micro “black hole,” and the earth will be quickly erased from existence. Others have ruled out the possibility that the LHC will create any kind of doomsday scenario, countering that the black holes that the LHC could theoretically create don’t even have enough energy to light up a light bulb. On the other hand, the U.K.’s Astronomer Royal put the odds of destroying the world at 1 in 50 million.

If you’d like to learn more about the LHC, see or, and associated articles.

Even China has problems with Islam

A Chinese Islamic group is threatening to bomb and otherwise disrupt the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. The “Turkistan Islamic Party” recently attacked and killed 16 policemen in the province of Xinjiang, and is making plans to place explosives on trains, planes, and buses. Has the time come for the world to recognize the threat that Islam, described by some former Muslims as archaic and barbaric, poses to the civilized world? Has the time come for “non-violent” Muslims to disavow the actions of those of their religion who will not live peacefully with their non-Muslim neighbors? What’s your opinion?

Out-of-wedlock pregnancies in Vicksburg

A front-page article in Sunday’s Post discussed the increasing rate of teen pregnancies in Vicksburg. Pregnancy at this tender age imposes social and financial pressures not only on the mother, but on her family and on taxpayers. If the baby is lucky enough to have a supportive father, the load is more equally shared, and the child stands a better chance of being raised in a “normal” environment.

There was a time when out-of-wedlock pregnancies, teen or otherwise, were regarded as dishonorable, and the mothers-to-be were whisked away to parts unknown. No longer, however, is that the case, with out-of-wedlock births outnumbering those occurring in marriage. The toll on the unwed mothers and on society in general is tremendous. Too many times, the grandparents are saddled with raising the children, and tax dollars are required for the child’s upbringing.

What is your view regarding the ongoing trend toward pregnancy outside of marriage? If you agree that unwed mothers present a serious societal issue, what would you do to prevent these pregnancies? What would you require of the fathers? What does the acceptance by Americans of pregnancies outside of marriage say about the American people?

Islam: Victorious through terror

For centuries Muslim men have followed Muhammad’s specific “revelation” instructions on how and when to fight, loot, pillage, plunder, rape, torture and murder in order to further the interests of Islam and their own personal wealth in the form of “plunder.” Muhammad himself had many people murdered, many killed while they slept. There were no trials, no judgments, no dialog. If you insulted Muhammad, if you doubted his credibility and if you spoke out, you were murdered. Here is a sampling of murders committed upon Muhammad’s requests or efforts:

1) Ibn Sunayna, a Jewish man who was murdered because he was simply a Jew
2) Abu Afak, a 120-year-old man, murdered while he slept
3) Asma Marwan, mother of 5 children, murdered while she slept
4) A slave woman, mother of two children, murdered while she slept
5) A one-eyed shepherd, murdered while he slept
6) A very old woman, literally ripped in half by Muslims who captured her on a raid.
7) A slave girl, who was murdered because she poked fun at Muhammad.

By any unbiased definition, Muhammad was a terrorist. In fact, he purportedly stated, “I have been victorious through terror.” He taught that Muslims are to murder those who have left Islam “wherever you find them.” He recited a revelation declaring that Christ was not the Son of God, another instructing Muslims that it was their heavenly duty to fight and kill Christians and Jews wherever they could be found.

Muslims who commit murder in the name of Muhammad were told they were doing God’s service and would be rewarded. God would compensate the martyr for sacrificing his life by giving him virgins and everlasting happiness: Each time he sleeps with a houri (angelic-like female) he finds her virgin. The penis of the Elected never softens. The erection is eternal; the sensation that you feel each time you make love is utterly delicious and out of this world and were you to experience it in this world you would faint. Each chosen one will marry seventy houris, besides the women he married on earth, and all will have appetising vaginas.

Women are treated severely (terrorized) under Muhammad’s guidance. When a Moslem female turns 7 years old, she is segregated from all males in and out of her extended family. At 9 years old, she must begin adhering to Islamic laws because she is considered an adult and eligible for marriage. Muhammad contracted for his wife Aisha when she was 7 (he was 51) and consummated the marriage when she was 9. If a Muslim woman gets sick, she is required to be treated by female doctors. If none are available, she must be examined through some sort of divider or go without treatment. Women are required to pray at home in many Islamic countries because females are not allowed in mosques. Among the countries which allow women in mosques, the women are banished to basement rooms or other segregated spaces. Women living under Islamic laws are not allowed to work, travel, go to college, join organizations, or visit friends and relatives without the permission of their father or husband. They can be legally jailed or executed for violations of Islamic laws, depending upon the seriousness the infraction. Quranic verse 24:31 warns Muslim women not to make eye contact or allow any part of their skin or jewelry to be seen by strangers, “and tell the believing women to lower their gaze and protect themselves from illegal sexual acts, and not show off their adornment to men and boys.” As a result of this verse, if an adult girl (9 years and older) is raped by an adult man, she will be considered at fault because she was careless and provoked the attack. Her parents will be expected to severely punish or kill her for dishonoring her family. Quranic verse 4:34 instructs Muslim men to “admonish” and “beat” their wives if they become “rebellious” and that “men are the managers of the affairs of women because Allah has preferred men over women and women were expended of their Rights.” In an Islamic court of law, it takes the testimony of two women to override the testimony of one man. Muslim women are not allowed equal right to their inheritance because they are only worth half of a man’s share. In most Islamic countries, women are not allowed to vote and are certainly not allowed to be elected to public office. According to Islam, most women are inherently evil and their ultimate destiny is Hell fire. Muhammad explained about one of his visions, “. . . I stood at the gate of the Fire [Hell] and saw that the majority of those who entered it were women.” If a Muslim woman protests any of her treatment, she is reminded that “her husband can divorce her simply by repeating “I divorce you” three times and that her prayers and devotions will not be accepted by God and curses of heaven and earth will fall upon her if she continues to rebel.

Grand Jury refuses to indict Joe Horn

A Grand Jury has refused to indict Texan Joe Horn for killing two illegal aliens who were robbing his neighbor’s house. Mr. Horn’s actions were highly controversial, and were discussed in an earlier post herein,

Who do you trust to give you the news?

The large news organizations have so consolidated that a handful of people control a great deal of what you hear on television or the radio, or read in the newspaper. As a result, there are charges that much of what you see or hear is biased toward the political leanings of the owners. Fox News and CNN often charge each other with showing favoritism, while some in congress want to sanction Rush Limbaugh and other conservative radio show hosts by imposition of a “fairness doctrine.” Here in Vicksburg we have access to many of the local and national television networks, conservative and liberal radio talk shows, a local talk radio show, the Vicksburg Post, which sports its own “Opinion” editorial, and to major newspapers and their perhaps politically-colored opinions of national affairs. The source of news to which you individually assign the most trust can motivate you to vote for, say, a particular candidate in the upcoming presidential election. That said, who do you trust, and why? If you agree that some sources of news are tainted by political considerations, can you identify them?
