Mississippi leads nation in mortgage delinquencies

So states the Post in an editorial from the Hattiesburg American. Mississippi is also in the top 20 states for foreclosures. Local realtors, however, have said that the Vicksburg area has been affected very little by the mortgage crisis. Have you or your neighbors and friends experienced difficulties related to the financial crisis? Your observations are appreciated.

  1. The only stories I hear about have been the housing auctions of the older homes. Like they were some in the post in the spring but that’s it. But foreclosures the Post hasn’t even touched on as newspaper story to see if this market is depressed. But from my friends whom I work with, homes haven’t been selling here either. And that got confirmed when David Dey and his cohosts talked about real estate a few months ago. Real question is this: why hasn’t the post did a story on Foreclosures and the number of them.
