A “letter to the editor” in Sunday’s Post outlined the writer’s argument that reparations for slavery are “solid,” even though no one, black or white, living in the United States was either slave or slave owner. What is your opinion?

  1. My opinion is simple……I had absolutely nothing to do with the slavery, so therefore I should not have to pay anything. It was a shame that slavery existed but it was thankfully ended. I believe that if people keep pushing this issue and keep harping on racial biases then more trouble will arise. We have bigger issues than compensating people that are no longer alive to reap the benefits. We need to worry about those issues. We have children who are not properly fed, clothed or receiving healthcare. The money people want to us to give in reparations should go to help those issues. Enough already.
